  • Movie Review: Muallaf by Yasmin Ahmad (18PL)

It has been long time ago since my last review upon movies or tv series. Well, finally I have found a movie which is worth to write my personal review.

    Muallaf (Yasmin Ahmad)

    Muallaf (18PL)

Muallaf, directed by the famous Malaysian director, Yasmin Ahmad in year 2008, the same director for ‘Sepet‘,’Gubra‘ and ‘Mukhsin‘.

This movie is very ‘heavy’. Personal speaking, you got to think deep, be open and must not shoot your finger without understanding the moral of the scene, dialogs and action. You also must not leave any point said and spoken by the actors. Not to forget, the behind the scene voices.

As a person who believed in religion and as a Muslim, this movie remind me of unity among believers and the openness between believers. Who said we can’t study about other’s religion? So, if you’re close minded and hate to think, I’m suggesting you to don’t bother to book a ticket for this movie. You shall be bored.

The quotes and issues unveiled in this movie are frankly true and lies among us, daily, everywhere. To think this as the last movie by Yasmin Ahmad, I hope that the director managed to remind people that you got to believed in your religion, not just by a sip, but till the touch of the bottom of it.

  • Once, We Hold The Record For Years

Salam to everyone, welcome to new Islamic Year. Greek year? Not that important.

Today, my younger brother went to our school to receive his PMR result. Alhamdulillah, he made it. He scored full flush 8As, as we only allowed to cater 8 subjects for PMR.

For years, my friend and I managed to hold a 6 years top performance school (SBP) in PMR result with our 90.2% of straight As. And, this year, the school has successfully done their job and they managed to break the school own record, but it is just not enough to beat the rest. Other schools have step further up and manage to score with better percentage. Who? I will not disclose them here.

Make it short. I failed Petronas cutting marks (65%). Which, officially upgrades my Consequence Management to Level 2. This level states that,

.. tuition fees will be paid, yet no more monthly allowance and you’re one step closer to breaching your contract with us.

Enough for today. Off to squash at Cyberjaya.

  • It Is The IP Address Story

It was 18 September, 2009, 02:40 am in the early morning. My Adium alerted that somebody wanted to add me as a friend. For a moment, I was stunned, thinking who is the person who randomly requested me as a contact. So after I approved her, the conversation started.

Cut short, I never know who is this girl. Then we started to get to know each other. ASL and stuff. You know, the syllabus way to get to know other person. But, something different here. I was not inform where is she living, currently. Ok. I’m fine with that. No problem. Is not like I’m gonna chase and stalk her afterward. Therefore, I don’t mind.

I was busy reading something at Facebook, blog-hopping and stuff-web-designer-do. Then, she asked about myself. Being busy and preoccupied with my readings, I bluntly asked her to go to my blog and do some reading over there, which I was meant the About page itself. After the-bla-bla-stuff-about-me, I asked her, where is she studying? But she seems to refuse to give to me the direct location of her university. She said it is located somewhere north, at the northern hemisphere, kinda far from the earth equator. So, I asked her, “do u just went to google and search for your coordinates?”. And here is where the tricky part comes.
