  • CloudApp : Share. Files. Fast.

    You love to share files. At one time, you need to share it fast, such as your screenshot or a document. You hate to go to services, and in return you have a long link to share. You hate the need to open the web and upload them, and later click, click, click, click, just to share a single file. However, worry no more.

    To speak the truth, there are a lot of file sharing services nowadays, however today I want to introduce to you CloudApp.

    CloudApp : Getting Going

    Website: www.getcloudapp.com

    CloudApp is an online file sharing services, to complement with Dropbox, Drop.io, Google Docs, Box.net and many more. However, CloudApp provides you with a very simple solution. You only need to steps to start sharing your file. Drag the file to menubar icon (the dark cloud). Next, paste the link. To disappoint you, there is NO 3rd step (sarcastically, haha).

    You can share any kind of files: music, image, docs, *ehem*ehem* and almost everything. The screenshot show the type of files supported.

    The coolest thing about this service is that, it will automatically copy the short link created of your uploaded file onto your clipboard. Meaning that, once the cloud on your menu bar has done with the uploading job, and you will hear a “Ping” sound, and you’re link are ready to be pasted to your friends!

    You can manage your upload in the web app provided, or on your menubar itself. On your Mac, you can have extra extension to integrate CloudApp with your working application, such as iPhoto, Safari, Google Chrome. The extensions available under the tool section.

    Tips

    To share the file, you just need to paste the link, such as this one http://cl.ly/Pft. However, for an auto trigger download, you can always add some function to the end of the link http://cl.ly/Pft/content and your file will be force to download. No web interface. Or, you can use it as your image hosting, by adding up the “/content” at the end of the image short link in your code. Example:

    <img src="http://cl.ly/qiH/content" />

    Online Web Manager

    From this manager, you can filter according to your file type, and delete them. You can also track how many views have been made for each file uploaded.

    Conclusion

    To date, this service is free and there is no storage limit (Yea!) and still at a very early stage of its history of development. Perhaps, we can have mass upload in later days? I don’t know, just a thought. They said, online editing might come soon. yea!

    Anyway, use it wisely people! Do not share explicit stuff ok! haha!

Lets share this post to everyone!
