I’m into running now. Going to get into cycling later, when extra budget is ready for spending.

Thus, I start spending into running gear. I started with my Nike+ Free Run shoes, and I love it. Then, the family gets bigger when I owned a new iPhone 4S; I spent on Nike+GPS (iOS App) for records and running map. FYI, the iPhone came with the stock white earphone, while it is already good enough for sound quality, it does not stands up when I started to sweat more and more. The right earphone diafragma broke down and making noises.

Therefore, it was decided that I’m going to have a better earphone, wireless and sports-proof. Then, I found Jaybird Freedom bluetooth headphone.

Oh well. There’s story behind this joy. The process of possessing this beautiful technology wasn’t as easy as you thought. Due to the origin of this bluetooth headphone is from USA, I was required to have a ‘Permit’ from SIRIM in order to own this thing.

The process was quite easy, however searching for information about the permit from SIRIM wasn’t that easy. There was no direct information about this issue on the SIRIM website. After going in and out of forums (Google-ing), one forum stated that we have to pay certain amount (RM100) to get this permit done.

The address given by FEDEX was like 2000-and-late, and I end up at SIRIM old building with practically no one there. However, after a while, I managed to be at the right Building no-25, SIRIM Shah Alam. The process was easy, but make sure you bring together these two particulars:

1. Money – RM100 (subject to change without notice)
2. All the shipping company details about the product – form, receipt, shipping information, product information

The reason was that the item I bought from outside Malaysia has a technology which falls under the Custom Act bla bla bla.. which is the ‘bluetooth’ – a telecommunication technology. This also include any kind of radio-based technology.

Oh well, one more thing. I’m going to be at the Malaysia 7th International Ekiden Run on May 27th, 2012, Sunday. See you there!

and I jumped. Hoping to land anywhere safe or not-so-hard ground. I need a refresh. A restart. A new journey. A new way of living my life.

Remember my first hands on Nikon FM2n, together with the 24 exposures film? Ok, here is the product out, straight from raw (scanned) without any retouching, except for cropping and resizing purposes.

This is what we called as ‘real-lomo’. Haha.

It seems that KTM has taken a step to revise this issue. As a result, they are now using a different logo/icon/symbol. Personally, the new symbol represents the motive better and clearer. Here it is:

Smart Cover, which is one of the accessory product by Apple for its iPad 2 has a very unique way of functioning. Unlike others, Apple decided to design a ‘cover’ instead of ‘casing’ for its iPad 2. The price is not that cheap, however it is very useful and neat.

Then, a contender (Anymode) release their own product, called the ‘Smart Case’. The different: attached to a plastic case. So, they will say that it is not a Smart Cover kirf, instead as an innovation (read more here). I would not claim that they violated Apple design, however we can see with our own eyes, the design of the cover is a ‘Smart Cover’ attached to a plastic case.

We know that Smart Cover can be folded to function as a stand and more. Smart Case (by Anymode) also functioning the same way. However, instead of magnet, it utilise the case it has been attached to as the mechanism to remain still at the tablet.

Now, has been design 98% look-alike its competitor, Anymode and Samsung can mislead other to buy the product: the Samsung tablet, as advertised, instead of iPad 2. Therefore, is this the new game of current technology companies? Are they so desperate in cashing up their pocket, that they would do anything including limiting their innovation wide and fresh, and copy their competitor just because they seems to be doing good business and product?

If this keep on going, I bet in the coming years, all tv, phones or tablet will have the same shape, size, and form, but with different brands’ mark.
