• Smart Cover, which is one of the accessory product by Apple for its iPad 2 has a very unique way of functioning. Unlike others, Apple decided to design a ‘cover’ instead of ‘casing’ for its iPad 2. The price is not that cheap, however it is very useful and neat.

    Then, a contender (Anymode) release their own product, called the ‘Smart Case’. The different: attached to a plastic case. So, they will say that it is not a Smart Cover kirf, instead as an innovation (read more here). I would not claim that they violated Apple design, however we can see with our own eyes, the design of the cover is a ‘Smart Cover’ attached to a plastic case.

    We know that Smart Cover can be folded to function as a stand and more. Smart Case (by Anymode) also functioning the same way. However, instead of magnet, it utilise the case it has been attached to as the mechanism to remain still at the tablet.

    Now, has been design 98% look-alike its competitor, Anymode and Samsung can mislead other to buy the product: the Samsung tablet, as advertised, instead of iPad 2. Therefore, is this the new game of current technology companies? Are they so desperate in cashing up their pocket, that they would do anything including limiting their innovation wide and fresh, and copy their competitor just because they seems to be doing good business and product?

    If this keep on going, I bet in the coming years, all tv, phones or tablet will have the same shape, size, and form, but with different brands’ mark.
