This is my first attempt for video blog at an Apple Authorised Reseller Store, located at Bintang Mall, Miri. The store’s name is Optiprimus.
(does Malaysia has an Apple Store? do we?)
Anyhoo, this is just a very short one. Haha.
This is usually one of the biggest game which web developer had to deal with. Which browser should I support? How about IE?
Apart from that, this is also an issue for internet suffers (at least for users who are aware of speed and security of the browser). What is the right browser for them? Should they use Internet Explorer because it is built into those Windows system? Or should they replace them with Firefox because of those stickers and peer pressure from their friends, plus the ability to be expanded with plugins? Or should they use webkit-based browser for speed and fast rendering, but less expandable, yet which browser? Safari? Chrome? Or the unsung hero of poor connectivity internet browsing experience, the Opera?
Together with improvements and tunings made by Apple, Snow Leopard also facing issues and errors with its current development serial 10.6. Usually the compatibility issue and errors occur due to change of API or new security enforcement made by Apple.
Thus, developers for the particular applications has to wait for the official release of Snow Leopard before they can continue with the development and updates. Therefore, until the developer update their application, in this post I will tell you which error and issue I bumped to and how to get over it.
It has been a week since my upgrade to Snow Leopard and I would like to share my experience poking around with this new Mac OS X. Some of them has been repeatedly reported by other, while some of the refreshment were not focused. So, today I would like to focus on the minor changes but huge improvement made by Apple for Snow Leopard.
On the arrival of Snow Leopard, Apple worked so hard in the pushing the industry to start utilising 64 bit application. Today, System Preferences by default will run in 64 bit architecture and if you want to access any 32 bit app, you will be informed to restart the app in 32 bit.
I bet those Apple users out there are craving to death on upgrading their machine box to Apple latest Mac OS X, codename Snow Leopard. You might have sneaking all over the web, reading about Snow Leopard and its reviews. Now, you decided that you want to continue upgrading you current Mac OS X version with Snow Leopard. Here, I’ll try my best to guide you upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard using External Storage, instead of the DVD itself.
The reason why I’m using an external drive and not the DVD is because the reading speed of these two medium. A DVD can be read up around 10 Mbps (8x speed) while s0me usb drive can go up to 30 Mbps and an external hard drive has a speed up to 480 Mbps with USB 2.0. However, this is just an another installation technique and not compulsory.
Having reading on every single rumors and prediction articles on the internet makes me eagerly waiting for Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), on June 8th 2009.
It was time that my system alert me that I need to update my iTunes to version 8.1 and everything went very smooth. Then, I started my iTunes and wanted to try out the re-branding feature, called iTunes DJ (was known as Party Shuffle). While clicking around, I mistakenly click the Genius feature, located below the iTunes DJ.
Now, iPhone is LEGALLY SOLD by MAXIS, the most numbered Telco for Malaysian. Haha. Like I said in this post, ‘I Smell Something Nice‘. Woot!
