Photography Academy Website Facelift

My brother is one of the manpower behind this photography and media academy. One day, he called me and request for a facelift of his previous design (which was not my product). He added that he need it to be done urgent due to several matter. Being me, this is a very nice challenge to my designing and coding skills. In the end, this is the result.

The design was based on my earlier design for my mother’s website. Moreover, I added the theme of corporate and dark colouring. However, the site is not IE6 friendly, and it still need some improvement from day to day, especially the navigation part.

Underpaid Freelancer and Those Who Bring Down The Market

From my personal view and observation, I would like to say that web designer freelancer does grow big from day to day. It was like the mushrooms after a rainy day. The pop out here and there, selling their skills to build a website, but not necessarily the whole package, perhaps, just a design or some coding work.

With this situation on the market, clients seem to overlook those good freelancer and offer them a really low price. A price where it is only sufficient to build one plain HTML page, and nothing more. But, they asked for something as big and awesome as social site or heavy influence of professional site browsing experience. All these feature cost the developers creative thinking, his intelligence copyright and hard work just to make sure the project that they working on, is up to the optimum level, the best of the best.

How to Drive a Graphic Designer Mad

Graphic Designers are artist, means that they are good in art and singing. Ok, minus the singing part. An artist has his own sense of art and how to implement them. He will talk about readability, eye-catching and stuff. It is not easy for an artist to create an art without analyzing the whole parts of the creation. They tend to be fussy and optimistic.

However, according to a freelancer from Canada, Ghislain Roy, he discover that graphic designers are the cause of many wars on our earth. According to him:

They get inside our heads with their subliminal advertising, force us against our will to spend money on the worst pieces of shit, and eventually, drive us to depression and random acts of violence. And of course, most of them are communists.

On his mission to save the world, he listed out 8 steps to get rid of graphic designers on this originally peaceful earth. He explained all 8 steps and you can further read them on his page. The post was originally a rant but, somehow spread on the net and later published on prints.
