  • I’m back to Miri and no more of GeoRaya

Malaysia Airlines : Kuching - Miri

Alhamdulillah, I safely back in Miri after a week of field work in Kuching. I guess, there are a lot of things I need to catch up but we’ll see how. Tests are getting near, every week. Tutorials, reports, assignments. Anyhoo, the trip in Kuching was not bad at all. Maybe we’re lacking of time, thus were not able to uncover the nice places to visit over there. Maybe next time. Insyallah.

  • Study Updates and Randomness

Alhamdulillah. I managed to enroll into 2nd Semester, 2nd Year units. Syukur.

This semester, things are pretty the same like previous semester, but with additional experience. Ok, I do not want to babble too long and make you guys boring reading this post. I shall put them into a list.

    1. 2nd week is equal to multiple assignments and labs.
    2. 2009 is the year for GeoRaya trip, means that my class will be in Kuching on the 1st day of Raya Puasa. My flight is at 7.00 a.m. on the first day of Raya itself. Life is beautiful, right? *sarcasm.
    3. I started sketching during lectures again. Haha.
    4. Latest Mineral lab, we were requested to COUNT the BLOODY minerals within a ROCK. Ok, if you ask how to count them : first, zoom in the sample to a micro level using our RM40,000 Petrology Microscope, and magnify to the level where you can ACTUALLY see the minerals within the rock, and started counting them. You can say that, using Google Earth, you zoom to a forest, and started counting the trees.
    5. There are about 30 new students under JPA Scholarships enrolled this semester, but none of them are cute enough for me. Haha.
    6. I need a GPS unit, which gonna cost me nearly RM2000. Which should I opt? iPhone 3GS or Garmin GPS? *dilemma.

  • Ice Skating At Sunway

Guess what, I went for ice skating at Sunway Piramid, a day before Hari Raya Aidifitri. Hahaha  Yup, I went there just to have fun, yet when everyone is walking away from KL, heading towards their village. Kim, Con and me had a really great fun.

It was a date at 12.00 pm, but I reached there at 3.00 pm, because I had to follow my mom for her new glasses, and some banks. Why? Because I ask her for ‘duit raya’ in advance. Seriously, I got no penny, but still wanted to go for skating as I swear to myself before I came back from Miri, that I have 3 wishes: ‘Nan Cheese’ at Hakim Section 7, ice skating and breaking fast at Sushi King. Yea! I manage to fulfill all my wishes within one week. hahaha

Pity Kim and Con, they fall several times in the ice ring. Kim had several type of falling down, and some of them that I remembered are: diving into people, spinning and stuck-and-jump on your knee. Both of them were wet as the melted ice turned into water. Me? Nope, I didn’t fall, I even help people to stand up. Continue Reading
